Okay, so here I go.  I am officially entering the blogging world. I am jumping in, feet first. Like the way I prefer to get in the cool water of the swimming pool.  Just get in and feel the initial shock and then tread or swim quickly to warm up and then bask in the weightlessness of my body gliding through the water.  I really hope at least, this experience of blogging is like that.  I know it is going to be an adjustment for me to return to the habit of daily, or even weekly writing, but I hope in time I just feel like I am gliding effortlessly.

I hope you will join me on this adventure and through this blog we can become friends.  I am writing for two reasons…one, I need to get some of these ponderings out of my head and onto paper (or virtual paper) and two, to hopefully encourage other women out there who might be experiencing some of the same life events as I am.

I am a full time stay at home mom and have been for more than 25 years.  My interests are varied though and my background has been anything but predictable.  I love to read, bake and take walks through the neighborhood.  I am drawn to water, lively conversations and making things function better.

I plan to write about a variety of subjects including marriage, parenting, cooking, healthy living, good books, home keeping, finance, spiritual topics, adoption and fostering and finally, travel.  Wait, is that too much?  Well, now you see what I mean that I have varied interests.   I just am curious about too many things and I cannot seem to eliminate anything…so hopefully you will enjoy exploring these topics too.   If a particular post doesn’t strike your fancy then check back with me next week, maybe that one will!

In the meantime, I hope you will spend time in prayer and Bible study first and then maybe on a quick break in your day, you will grab a cup of coffee, tea or glass of water and join me for a quick chat.  What you do matters and I want you to be reminded of that in the middle of the laundry piles, dishes, blood tests, paper clutter, Principal calls, visits to your parents and other daily life events.  I want to give you practical help but more importantly I want to lift up your chin to the One who will sustain you through it all.

Life is sometimes messy and crazy but then again, how boring it would be if it were not.  Thanks for joining me. I look forward to us getting to know each other.  In the meantime I leave you with this thought this Easter Sunday.  It was just shared with me by a friend who is watching his wife battle cancer.

“Easter is not an occasion to repress whatever ails you and put on a happy face. Rather, the joy of Easter speaks tenderly to the pains that plague you. Whatever loss you lament, whatever burden weighs you down, Easter says, “It will not always be this way for you. The new age has begun. Jesus has risen, and the kingdom of the Messiah is here. He has conquered death and sin and hell. He is alive and on his throne. And he is putting your enemies, all your enemies, under his feet.”  David Mathis
